With more than 30 years of experience in the self-funded marketplace, Bob Calvisi has extensive administration, sales, and consulting expertise, including leading his sales team in establishing the first self-funded Multiple Employer Trust in the State of Texas.
Bob’s expertise includes leading as an executive officer of two third-party administration firms that included rebuilding the sales strategy of an established firm; facilitating a startup benefits operations; consulting with a hospital system-owned entity; and developing a three-hospital-owned regional network.
In these positions, he developed agent and consultant relationships and provided educational and presentation support.
Bob is highly regarded in the stop-loss community for presenting easy-to-underwrite submissions, and educating underwriting on the vendor and health system values that benefit the employer group and the carrier.
He continues to look for innovative solutions to benefit employer health plans, such as transparent pharmacy programs, direct provider contracts, reference-based pricing programs, domestic medical tourism, and funding options with the stop-loss marketplace.
